Nursing@Noon: OHSU Street Nursing Team
12:00pm
Learn how OHSU nursing faculty and students are taking health services to the streets and improving access in southern Oregon.
In 2015, Rachel Richmond, M.S.N., RN, assistant professor at the OHSU School of Nursing in Ashland, began organizing foot-soak clinics as a service-learning experience for her students. The clinics provided a judgement-free space to address foot ailments common among people who are unhoused, while bringing concepts from the nursing curriculum into the real world.
As a growing number of Southern Oregonians are experiencing houselessness, the foot-soak clinics have evolved into the OHSU Street Nursing Team, serving patients who are unhoused in Ashland, Medford and Klamath Falls. Join us for our next Nursing@Noon webinar and learn how OHSU nursing faculty and students are taking health services to the streets and improving access for these communities.
This virtual event is presented by the OHSU School of Nursing Alumni Association.
